Unexpected kids....

Had a pair of Saddle back clowns I bought about one year or less ago and apparently they bonded, because last week I found they had laid eggs on the back glass. I kind of ignored the aquarium for the last few months and it worked out because they are happy and doing the do. I looked tonight and all the fry were gone off the back, so I took a flashlight and found two fry cruising around. Don't expect them to survive but I'll see what happens. Hopefully they will lay again at some point, because I plan on moving in the next few months. Any input would be cool or not just a little something to give those that are trying to breed some hope that you don't have to do too much for the clowns as they don't need much. Good luck to those who try.

Not surprising. There's always a few that will find food. But the trouble is eventually, something in the main tank will eat them, including their parents. It is highly unlikely you would ever be able to raise the fry of any species unless you separate them -- too many evils, especially in a marine tank. I must say this is an excellent example of how remarkable life is. Hangs on for as long as it can. While a complete failure can almost be guaranteed, it would not surprise me to learn that a few might manage to survive for awhile, maybe even a month or two. Depends what you have in there.

So, what ever happened to them? Still kickin?
