RotiMac??

Hi,
I am going to start culturing rotifers for my clownfish(they are not breeding yet but i want to be prepared). I have already been hatching brine shrimp and have food for them called rotimac. Would that be ok to feed to rotifers???

I am not familar with RotiMac. I went to their website and tried to read about it but didn't find much information as to what it contains. If there claims are true it is great for rotifers. I have not personally used it before. Let us know. It sounds like it is pretty inexpensive, how much did you pay for your rotimac? Good luck with your rotifers.

Hi,
I bought it from Ebay for around AU$10.00 (20grams) including postage. I have just emailed the seller and i am awaiting a reply as to whether they will work for Rotifers. If anyone can help me it will be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Zach

Hey,

Well i finally got a reply from the seller and they called there supplier, their supplier said they are good for rotifers so i will try that.

As for the rotifers i am still looking for a live supply off the internet coz i live in australia i cant get it from anywhere, and i live in a regional town so our pet shop doesnt sell rotifers. If anyone knows where i can get them from it would be really appreciated??

You might be able to hatch rotifers from eggs. The eggs would last a very long time in the mail via a slow shipping method. The only downside is that it will take longer to get the culture going. Try

http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategories/1379/Rotifer-Eggs-Small-Saltwater it appears they ship internationally. Let us know how it goes. I have never hatched rotifers from eggs but it should be pretty straight forward. No different than having a started culture.
