Did you read my news my clowns layed again and my wolf eel-blenny layed some pretty purple eggs. I don't have a male for her :( If I did I'm not sure how well the eels would sale. And I sure do not need 200 eels to feed. It would be fun to try I asked the fish shop to look for me a male just incase. I'm going to try really hard to post some pictures of the eel eggs they are so big compared to clown eggs. I did move Spot 1 and Spot 2 and 1 other odd middle stripped one to my sons room. :)

Congrats on your eel eggs ! maybe your eel changed sexes :) let`s see if they hatch ! last week my royal grama went missing for days and not eatting ,while the other grama was swimming around . I found where it was hiding .It looked as if it was protecting something ,but could not find any eggs .Last Thursday had a hatch ,so far after 5 days there looks to be 100 fry swimming around ,starting them today on BBS.

What is the grama doing now? Congrats on your hatch! How are those fry doing?
Had a clown fish batch hatch last wk or maybe the wk before  anyway they should be going to morph around Tue or Wed. I'm guessing 60 or more. :D I haven't done a water change yet. Been working late alot. Also I have eggs that should hatch Sat. or Sun. No luck on a male eel. Ella the eel looks like she will lay again as she is getting fat again a looks for food all the time.
Rotifers are doing great except one culture has been contaminated with b. shrimp. It still has plenty of rotifers too so I'm still feeding the fry from both as I have a greedy batch of fry this time. The adult b. shrimp kinda give me the chills. I don't put my hands in the water. I do not like all their legs. They are neat to look at in a cup some are reddish colored others are gray looking and they attach to each other, I guess they are breeding that way because 1 looks like it has a egg sac or something. I have all different sizes of them. Not sure what to do with them but feed them and the rotifer to the fry maybe I'll put some in the main tank. I even have some too large for the fry to eat in their tank which I don't think will last long when the fry get bigger.

Hi Alanna,

I have been crazy with work the last few months . During Dec and Jan lost two big batches of babies due to the cold ! I still have the older guy`s some are over an inch now , I have 50 babies in the same out grow tank in a breeding basket , my other fry tanks have about 100 that have morphed in the last two days , plus the other fry tank had a small batch of fry hatch last night. I`m not sure how many yet since I cant see much in the green water :).All in aLL doing well . Boat still a no go , hope to have it ready by next month, just in time for fishing and diving !

Nice to hear from you :D Sounds like your fish are doing great :D
I have a star fish that ate 2 batches of eggs. He slips around to the back of the rocks and runs his arms around to take the eggs. I finally got him out and put him in another tank where he got alittle sick so he got to go back to the big tank. I should have a hatch tonight if they didn't hatch last night. I changed jobs alittle now I'm working nights in the ER. So, if they hatched last night I missed it. The last batch after I saved a few from the starfish I have 1 fry. He will get to upgrade to the small grow out tank to make room for the new ones. I have around 16 or so ready to sell today. Oh, the clowns did move the nest up about an inch I guess to get away from the starfish. I have 1 midget clown I think he is ready to sell. He is a cutie but no room to keep him.
Ella the had many batches of eggs. I thinks she is done for the season. Good luck with boat. Wish I could go find fish with you.

Sold 21 baby clowns on Sat. :D
Got a fox face low and put him in the tank with the clowns we will see if it upsets them and they stop laying.
I did water changes half of the day on all my tanks.
I also got a strawberry crab of course he has been out of site.
My last batch either hatched while I was at work or the starfish is not as sick as I thought he was and he ate them again.
I did move the 1 fry from one of the last batches up to the next tank with the other small fry.
I have not bothered with my rotifers or b. shrimp until Sat. night and it looked like my adult b.shrimp #s are down. I am low on green water I guess I'll have to order some more

Hi Alanna,

Well , work is going insane here for me . Finally have a weekend to myself . been working 12 hours a day every day for the last 2 months , with no time to do much of anything ... still have my original clowns and about 150 babys all different sizes . I am just going to grow the ones I have now and not hatch any eggs for a while ! My rotifer culture has been going on forever and ever , but I am down to a few days of instant alge so that will be it for the rotifers ! I will start to sell some of the clowns soon ! I have not had time to do anything with my boat yet , but the weather is getting nice now so I hope I will have it ready for my up coming birthday

Nice to hear from you. Sorry :( your having to work so much. I'm working 12s too but only 3 or 4 days a week. I like it better than 5 8 hr days.
Clown are still hatching if I can keep the strawberry crab and star fish away from them on hatch night. They both like to eat the eggs that night. I haven't put much effort into the I only have 3 fry live out of the last 3 hatches. I did try your method of moving the rock one time to keep them away from the crab and starfish. I also had to work that night so I covered the tank in my sons room and put the rock in only a few hatched the rest of the eggs turned cloudy so, I put the rock back in the big tank and the male and female clown ate them I guess they knew they were bad. My egg #'s are up and I added a fox face lo last time I sold babies. They did buy the rumpy or stumpy or I called him my midget clown. I put him in his own bag when I took him incase they didn't want him. They also put him in a different tank from the other clowns.
Something strange in the big tank my six line wasser has a lump in his belly area on one side and my eel blenny has what looks like 2 fluid filled cyst both had had them for awhile and both seem to be healthy otherwise. I did dose the tank with antibiotic just incase no change.
Rotifers are great. B. shrimp #s are down due to lack of me feeding them
I hope you have been out in your boat before the oil reaches your area. I hope it doesn't mess up your fishing.
Off the subject but anyway I was out mowing the front yard last Fri. and a black bear came out of the woods :o about 30 yards away from me. I had turned the mower off because I got it stuck on a stump and was tring to get it off whem I heard a noise in the woods. I thought it was a deer running back to finish off my rose bushes so, I stopped, thinking I would scare it with the shovel I had. I guess you know who got alittle scare  me. He didn't even see me. He was between me and the house. When he reached the other side of the clearing I ran to the house.

Hi! Been busy. Sold more clowns $140.00 worth. :D I got a hippo tang and gave them the star fish because he wouldn't stop eating the clown eggs on hatch night. So for the past few months I have not hatched any fry cause he was cleaning the rock off on hatch night or the night before. My husband did hatch about 8-12 last Sat. but he did some how mess up my tank flow I now have bubbles some time. I'll have to fix that when I have time. I still have some baby clowns all different sizes in one tank. It will be awhile until they are ready and the 8-12 new fry.
I may have to clean up one of my rotifer buckets, it doesn't seem to have that many rotifers in it. The other is fine.
The clown fish egg #s have increased. :D
I should have new eggs any day now unless she is unhappy with her new tank mates. She is fat so I'll bet she will lay eggs soon.
At the fish store they call me the clown fish lady.
