Hope you sale all of your babies and get lots of $$ for christmas. :D
I do have rotifer diet that will grow plankton if you need some, not sure how much it would cost to buy another culture. I did grow some from the rotifer diet. I haven't grown anymore plankton due to no new fry now. I should still have rotifers too. I'll have to check them. You are welcome to those too. Thanks again for sending me some plankton to try.
I should have around 10-15 to sale now just got to make time to take them. I did get their color dark. :)

Thanks for the offer, but the plan at the moment is to pick up some more cultures from flordia aqua farms after the holiday. I left the rotifer bucket aerating and check it every couple days to see anything will develope from frozen eggs. I noticed a few specs, not sure if their alive, and a brine shrimp about a 1/8" swimming around in the glass, still wondering how he got in there. For about $30 bucks, including shipping I can pick up the plankton, rotifer cultures, sounds like my christmas gift from the children. If things change I'll let you know.

The parents are on their second batch of eggs since the female returned from the hospital tank. She seems to be doing very well since being treated. One thought is to catch the fry and try my luck with the powdered food instead of rotifers.

The baby clowns in the grow out tank are doing very well. I added a penguin 100 onto the tank last week in addition to the sponge filter to begin to add carbon to the filtration. I have a few that are pushing about a inch long, many about a 1/2 inch and some smaller ones. The fry from the first hatch are starting to get their black color. Mostly along the lower part of their body and adjacent to the white stripe. It was curious to see that when if first started to appear it was based on the age, not size. I noticed it on the smaller one's first. I'll try to post some pictures over the weekend.

I think I only have about 3 at the moment large enough to sell. I might start calling the pet stores tomorrow to see how to go about selling them.

Hello, Yes, still up at this time at work looking at a 18 hr shift due to a call.
Anyway, I called the pet shop I sold too last time to see if they want anymore they said sure. I took them 18 and only one was a tear drop bar all the rest had full nice big bars. $5.00 each. I got there so late after work on Thur. 7:50pm. They close at 8:00pm on Thur and Fri. that the only guy working wasn't authorized to give cash out of the register. He said I could trade for stuff or come back another day. I was all to happy to come home with a Tiger eal female, a star fish, a dog face puffer, 2 large snails, 5 little crabs, 1fighting conch and some kind of small coral. I also got frozen foods, antibiotics just incase, and frozen krill. And yes I had to pay $49.00 :D Still a very happy camper.

Fantastic!!! nice gift from mama and papa clown for all the work you've been doing. Mine are still on the small side so I have been able to reap the benefits. I missed the last hatch, daughter's christmas concert, so I'll try my luck with the next one. Interesting note on the rotifers. I kept the bucket aerating from the attemp to bring them back from frozen. After about a week, the tint of the water was clear as if something is eating the frozen planton I added. The brine shrimp?? If I hold the glass to the light I notice some very small specs, so I added another large cube of plankton.

The culturing station is shut down at the moment. I was only culturing brine shrimp for the past several weeks to feed the baby's. I figured I'd change their diet to flake and frozen exclusively to get them ready for their new home.

Good luck with all your new critters....

back at it....the cultures arrived friday, I started the phytoplankton friday, and rotifers yesterday. To put a rush on the situation eggs were laid yesterday. (Nice pink color and alot of them - I think all returned to normal from the medical treatment) I won't have rotifers ready by the hatch in 8 days but I still might try my luck with the powder food.

Bringing the cultures back from frozen never worked. I will pour the current bucket through the sieve after the hatch with hopes of claiming some. I started aerating my last container of phytoplankton (from frozen) but will feed the new rotifer culture from a second phytoplankton culture disk for the initial feeding.

The grow out tank is still doing very well. They've been completely off brine shrimp for awhile and basically eat anything I put in the tank. I've been mixing it up with frozen and crushed flake.

Missed the hatch, the clock change messed me up, by the time I realized it, it was to late. The tank lights were out but the basement lights were on so even with the tank pretty well lit they still hatched within 30 min from lights out. I guess the clark's don't waste any time.

The new cultures are in full swing, the rotifers are multiplying so at least they should be ready for the next hatch.

I think I have around 2-3 large enough to sell, I was waiting on a few more before calling the pet stores.

I'm glad your babies are doing well, strange about the eggs, Is this common?

Hope your enjoying the Holiday!!!

Thanks....it's great to see how far they've come. I'm going to go with around 50 baby clowns in the grow out tank (?). The majority are from the first hatch. I think mostly because looking back I kept up on the water changes (?). There are some from later hatches and the size of the babies range from about 1/4" to a couple over an inch.

All of them have been off brine shrimp for awhile and will eat of variety of foods that I feed them. I like to feed frozen food but I figured I better get them used to eating flake.

I used the sieve on the rotifers that I tried to culture from frozen and they only thing I managed to collect where a few full size brine shrimp. I added a few to the bucket when I was culturing to feed the clowns to see if they would grow. What a crazy looking creature. I looks like a few of them have an egg sack (?). I have them in a seperate tank at my culture station to see if they will cultue themselves.

Some updated pictures, the older clowns are at day 131. I also included an overall picture of the grow out tank. Don't mind the mess, water change later today. The tank consists of:
20 gallon tank, 36 watt compact flourescent bulb, 50/50 bulb, sponge filter, penguin 100 HOB filter and a heater. The lighing is prob a bit to much, but I already had the fixture.

On some of the clowns you can see the dark coloration starting to appear.
